When the ball finally drops into a slot, the dealer puts a marker on the winning number, the chips are paid out and the table closes.
Rules for American roulette
When the ball drops into a number on the wheel, the dealer spins the wheel in the opposite direction of the ball to set a mark on the winning number.
Once the dealer signals “no more bets” and the wheel starts to spin, players can place their bets again. Once the ball hits a number signal, the bets are paid out and the table closes.
The numbers on the wheel are not arranged in any specific pattern and the dealer spins the wheel in the opposite direction of the ball to make a mark on the winning number.

Rules for French roulette
The numbers are placed in the table layout in the same order as they are actually located in the wheel.
The chips can be put on the layout or in individual bets.
The layout consists of 37 sections with the numbers 1 to 36. They are in blocks of numbers with numbers in between.
There are two colors, normally green and red. On the table, there is a roulette layout spread across the entire surface.
17 numbers are on the inside track and 17 numbers are on the outside track.
Outside bets are on red or black, even or odd, 1st, 2nd or 3rd 12, 1 to 12, 13 to 24, 25 to 36.
Inside bets are in boxes above and below the layout on the table.
French Roulette Rules – Special Ways to Bet
When the players have placed the bet on the table, the dealer puts a marker on the winning number. The next bet will be placed on top of the existing bet.
When the dealer signals a new bet, the players lay the chips on the layout. The dealer then places a third marker on the winning number.
As soon as a new bet is placed, one more card is given to the player and the dealer will place a final marker on the winning number.
The players now have a choice to place a third bet and one more card is given to the dealer.
The dealer will then last the new coin and turn the wheel.
